Once the frame is complete, attach the skirting to the framework with galvanized or stainless steel screws or nails. Skirting should be slightly overlapped at the seams. For a flawless effect, pay careful attention to align half blocks to half blocks.
We offer galvanized J-Channel strips to cover raw edges for a finished look to your application (available factory-direct in 10’ sections). Skirting may be left in its galvanized finish, primed and painted immediately, or allowed to weather several months and then painted. Your local skirting distributor or home improvement center will be able to recommend the best paint for your climate and blend the color of your choice.

Recommendation: Use a 2” x 4” wooden frame support when installing metal skirting. For optimal support, upright studs should be placed 5’ apart or 30” on center and 24” pieces of rebar may be used to hold the frame in place (secure the rebar to the frame by using pipe grip ties). |
